iQuickdoc 2.0 on the verge …

April 8, 2007 on 2:19 pm | In iQuickdoc, Micro ISV, Micro ISV in India | No Comments

I have not been posting much and possibly that is not the word for making a post a half a month back ;-) but seriously i rather keep progressing in releasing better software than talk and read (other bloggers).

So what has been happening, well all features planned for iQuickdoc 2.0 have been wrapped up. One minor change, i have added document history but have kept favorites out. The benefit is low compared to the cost, so perhaps a patch if a customer really presses for it.

The last feature to go in was the subscriptions and e-mail alert feature and with that i am starting out today on documenting the features and preparing for the release of iQuickdoc 2.0.

P.S. - meanwhile several new product ideas have been cropping up, my goal for the next product is to keep coding effort as low as possible but ensure tangible customer benefits.

Document Batch Loading

iQuickdoc is slowly and steadily moving towards its upcoming release. The latest feature to get in are

Batch uploading of documents

You can now point to a folder and voila the entire folder contents will be uploaded into the project you choose. The entire folder tree can now be uploaded using this new batch upload utility.

iQuickdoc backup

The back up utility now provides full folder support, helping you to download the entire iQuickdoc projects and their content on to the file system. Helping you easily do maintenance or system changes. You can later use the bacth uploading utility to get the backup content right back on

Next in line, document change history and favorite documents

Have a nice weekend

Status Update

March 5, 2007 on 10:29 pm | In iQuickdoc, Micro ISV, Micro ISV in India | No Comments

After a strenous week! Here is a short update on what is going on in iQuickdoc. I have been deep into executing the promised features for the upcoming release and they are shaping up real well. iQuickdoc now has

1. Full folder support

2. Configurable page results

3. Remember’s the project opened per session so you need not choose again after navigating to any other page

4. Downloading documents now shows a ‘open or save’ dialog without the additional browser window that used to open before

And a few more minor refinements. Now, I am going on to providing batch update of documents. Meanwhile, the day job has also been pretty strainful for the past week, almost making it a day & night job! So I took the whole of this weekend off and spent some quality family time. Back on track today with the weekend charge up, though the feature execution on iQuickdoc could be much faster ;-)
